Advantages and disadvantages of aluminum clad wooden windows

May 24, 2022

The authenticity and quality of insulating glass:

Molecular sieve (inner spacer) for insulating glass needs to have a bright surface with built-in desiccant, and the joints should be smooth and no gaps; the sealant should be full without bubbles and impurities, so that the double or triple glass has good sealing performance to prevent condensation and seepage. Thermal insulation and sound insulation; glass selection requires low standards for float glass, the surface is smooth and smooth without bubbles, stains and particles, and no water marks. The thickness of the original glass sheet is more than 5mm. When the area of a single piece of glass is greater than 1500mmX2000mm, tempered glass must be used to ensure the overall strength and safety performance of the window. At the same time, when opening the sash part of the glass, a glass gasket should be added to improve its wind pressure and shock resistance.

Analysis of line fluency:

A good window should have a smooth line, a perfect, flat paint finish and a small color difference in the wood to make the overall artistic sense at a glance.

Test of rice flour performance:

Sealing rubber strips must have good flexibility, tenacity and anti-aging properties. PE and PVC rubber strips should not be used, and high-quality sealing rubber strips with high EPDM content should be selected. The rubber strips at the corners should be installed tightly, and the linear shape should be smooth. Compared with the 45-degree splicing corner of the aluminum profile, the corner glue should be assembled inside to increase the strength and air tightness.

Choose from thickness:

The overall thickness of aluminum-clad wood doors and windows needs to be greater than 80mm (special circumstances can be considered as appropriate), and the thickness of wood less than 80mm is generally less than 66mm. From the mechanical principle, the strength is not enough, and the large window type is easy to deform. The thickness of the main body shall not be less than 0.2mm, and the overall thickness of the profile shall not be less than 14mm, otherwise the strength of the outer aluminum is too low, and the outer aluminum will easily deform or fall off during use, which will directly affect the service life of the window.

Detection of glass bead:

In terms of practicality, the requirements for glass beading should also take into account the practicality. The glass beading must be reasonable and can achieve the function of easily replacing the glass. That is to say, no dead beading integrated with the frame fan is allowed in the room.

Delicacy of craftsmanship:

Aluminum-clad wooden windows can be seen from a sample window alone to see the difference in structure and process. If you measure the quality of large-scale projects, you can completely distinguish which window has a more reasonable structure and better quality. As for domestic Many manufacturers dare not enter the retail market, not because the retail market is small, but because the quality is not good enough. However, in the retail market, most of the quality is also very substandard, so they want to choose a good door and window. Most of them need to see more and more reference. The quality of the window is not about the price and brand.

Choice of paint:

The choice of paint for aluminum-clad wood windows must be special paint for doors and windows. At present, the market needs to use water-based paint, which must have good texture and airtightness, as well as anti-ultraviolet yellowing and fading. The thickness of the paint film is between 0.15mm and 0.2mm. It is reasonable to control the color difference at the wood joints within 0.2°.

Identification of wood profiles:

Timber selection, general aluminum-wood composite doors and windows should use glulam, the finger joint length of the glulam is between 40cm-80cm, and the thickness must be more than 15mm to ensure the strength of the wood. Tooth finger joint, the gap at the finger joint shall not exceed 0.1mm; pure wood window wood needs to choose a wooden square formed by splicing three layers of finger joint boards, and four pieces can be used when special needs are required. After cutting into the board and then finger jointing, it needs to be spliced accordingly to offset the mutual stress between the wood and achieve the effect of no deformation.
