Six points to identify the quality of aluminum-clad wood doors and windows

Dec 14, 2023

The door and window industry has developed rapidly in recent years. There are many types of door and window products, and there are also some superficial door and window products mixed in. The same is true for aluminum-clad wood doors and windows. Choose an aluminum-clad wood product with guaranteed material quality and craftsmanship. Doors and windows are still a bit unclear to ordinary users. Most users pay more attention to the price when choosing aluminum-clad wood doors and windows. It is precisely for this reason that some manufacturers find ways to reduce the material cost. In terms of quality and production technology, we try to find ways to fake the real ones and cut corners, resulting in the quality of the products that customers get without an effective guarantee.

Six tips on how to identify the quality of aluminum-clad wood doors and windows.
Point 1: Look At the Appearance
What we usually call good windows are smooth lines, perfect and flat paint surfaces, and small wood color differences. The quality of overall line color control is related to technology and time costs.
Point 2: Selection of Materials
Sealing strips must have good elasticity, flexibility, and anti-aging properties. A better choice is a high-quality sealing strip with a high content of EPDM. The rubber strips at the corners should be installed tightly, the lines should be smooth, and the strength and air tightness should be increased.
Point 3: Get Started and Experience It
In terms of operation, the hardware structure must be extremely load-bearing, must be flexible in opening and closing, and must be rigorous in overlapping, with good air-tightness and hydrophobic properties. The hardware installation must be sturdy and the handle must not shake, so that the opening and closing effects can be easily achieved.
Point 4: Glass Sealing
Identify the diagonal joints of glass battens and wooden battens that need to be tightly connected. First of all, the gap must not be larger than 0.5mm, and it needs to be flat without any unevenness. Secondly, the corners of the outer aluminum 45-degree angle must be flat without any unevenness, and the relative gap must be less than 0.5mm.
Point 5: Types of Paint
The choice of paint must be a special paint for doors and windows. The current market situation requires the use of water-based paint, which must have good texture and airtightness and must be resistant to UV rays and yellowing and fading. It must be sprayed evenly without color difference and dust particles, and at the joints of wood, It is better to control the color difference within 0.2°.
Point Six: Aluminum Thickness
The overall thickness of aluminum-clad wood doors and windows needs to be appropriate, and the overall thickness of the profile cannot be less than 60mm. Otherwise, the strength of the outer aluminum will be too low, and the outer aluminum will easily deform or fall off during use, which will affect the use of the window.
